Mr El Toukhy, Consultant at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS, speaking at one of Altrui’s information evenings for egg recipients, emphasises how the personal approach makes egg donation through Altrui a rewarding experience for everybody involved.

I usually maintain contact with the recipient couple until we know that the baby has arrived safely.
And we’ve had couples who came back and used the frozen embryos and had a second child from the the frozen batch.
I think the way it’s done and with the help and the support of our counsellors, obviously with the support from Altrui throughout the whole process, keeping everything open, keeping you in the knowledge all the time that you know exactly what’s happening, where we’re at with the process, what to expect next.
I think it makes it a really good experience and hopefully rewarding to all of you.
