Hi
I have been informed yesterday that egg collection will be Monday and I am very excited but after my chat with the clinic also very nervous for the recipients. Although I am doing my bit and helping them with donating my eggs i’m starting to panic about if they get a negative test and how upsetting it must be. But on a positive note fingers crossed for a positive result and a healthy happy pregnancy and all this injecting business will have been worth it. Hope everyone is well
Thanks
Claire

May 29, 2013 at 11:45 am #2462Fantastic news Claire!
When you think about natural conception, there’s about a 25% chance of getting pregnant every month. The odds are naturally against, and it nearly always takes a bit of time unless you’re incredibly lucky, but this is normal. Using an ED does give couples a better chance of getting pregnant, and given they would never have had the chance anyway, and have probably been on a waiting list for ages or have struggled to conceive for a long time, this means a lot more than you might think.
It’s always gutting when it doesn’t work though - I cried when I found my first couple had had a miscarriage, because we’d all been through so much to get them there. Fingers crossed the collection goes well and they get enough embryos for several tries. Will be thinking of you on Monday and good luck!

May 29, 2013 at 1:31 pm #2466Fabulous news! I went to my ‘Day 10 scan’ yesterday but my follicles weren’t quite big enough so I have to go back on Friday for another scan and hope they have grown some more (and hopefully more developed!!)
Good luck for Monday! Please let us know how you get on!
Lizzi x
May 29, 2013 at 2:16 pm #2467Yesyerday was my day 9 scan how big did they say your eggs were? Mine was around 11-14mm mark.
May 29, 2013 at 2:19 pm #2468Mine were between 8 and 12mm with most lying about 9mm big (Only had 6 in total though!) I’ve read online that they’re ideally about 20mm at collection
May 29, 2013 at 2:55 pm #2469Hi
The said I had about 10 which and yes they are meant to be around 20mm so i believe, How are you feeling yourself?
May 29, 2013 at 3:00 pm #2470I’m feeling alright in myself. I was surprised (pleasantly!) with how easy I’m finding the injections and don’t seem to be having any adverse side-effects. I definitely felt a bit more emotional over a situation that arose over the weekend (I don’t make a habit of crying in public, but had a short moment on Sunday!) I’m attributing that to drugs though. What about you?
May 29, 2013 at 3:08 pm #2471I am feeling amazing today, however the first few days was a tough ride as I feel ill around the same time so was very emotional. However today I am feeling amazing and really excited now. How long have you been going through the whole process?
May 29, 2013 at 3:12 pm #2472It feels like forever. I think I went down for my first counselling session back at the start of December so it’s been on going for 6 months. I’m kind of getting excited for the end of this journey now - keeping everything crossed for it’s success.
May 29, 2013 at 3:23 pm #2473Yes it feels like forever for me. Its been on-going since last August for me. Fingers crossed for us both.. Exciting times
May 29, 2013 at 7:56 pm #2475I’m having mine tomorrow - 4.30am train! I have 7 follicles on my left ovary which are about 20mm some bigger some slightly smaller, there’s 1 follicle on the right that went off on a tangent and was 30mm on the first scan after starting menopur, and about 3-4 slightly smaller then a few more on both ovaries which she said weren’t worth measuring but they would probably stick a needle in anyway. Not really surprising I’m bloated, I look pregnant, the swollen boobies aren’t helping!
I’m excited its getting to the end of the process just want to get to the part where they say it was successful and the recipient is expecting. I know I will probably cry either way!
