1. Go abroad for egg donation. Many couples are going to Europe or USA to find an egg donor, however this may not appeal to everyone for a variety of reasons. Some people may wish to have the protection afforded by UK legislation and to enable any future child’s right to identifying information.
2. Join an egg-sharing programme (sometimes misleadingly called egg donation). This is available at a number of licensed clinics throughout the UK. You pay for a cycle of IVF for someone who needs this treatment, and in exchange receive a share of the eggs collected. This may be in conjunction with a third person who also needs a donor.
