Natalie looks back on egg donation as ‘the most amazing feeling ever’. She feels a sense of reward and appreciation when she thinks of her recipient, and treasures the bond they share despite having never met.
How did you learn about egg donation?
I was driving to work when it came on the radio saying how much egg donors were needed… I didn’t even know there was such a thing as an egg donor or it was even possible to help someone with my eggs.
Why did you decide to donate via Altrui?
Personal service, always friendly, thorough and no pressure.
What inspired you to donate?
I couldn’t imagine being told I couldn’t have my own children. Having my own children is a love you can’t describe- why shouldn’t everyone get the chance to feel that love?
What did you enjoy the most about the donation process?
Support of Altrui, the excitement I was helping someone become a family. The feeling of knowing someone and having a bond I had never met.
How do you feel when you think about your recipient?
I feel like I have a bond with them yet have never met them and don’t even know them. I feel a sense of reward and appreciation.
What would you say to someone considering donating their eggs?
It’s the most amazing feeling ever, the proudest thing I’ve done. To be able to help someone achieve a family of their own is the most rewarding thing in life.
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
If I could do it again, I would!!! (I’m too old now!) I’m always happy to support donors where I can.
