After discovering Altrui while feeding her second daughter, Claire outlines how motherhood inspired her to donate her eggs so that someone else could share her same experience.
How did you learn about egg donation?
It was a couple of months after I had my second daughter and I was scrolling Facebook whilst feeding her and this advert for Altrui showed up on my timeline.
Why did you decide to donate via Altrui?
It was the advert that I saw first and they were so welcoming and kind and open that I didn’t feel the need to look elsewhere.
What inspired you to donate?
In my super sleep deprived emotional state I got all teary and decided that I needed to help people have the same experience I was having right that second! I rang them, told them I was interested and it went from there.
What did you enjoy the most about the donation process?
Reading the cards/ letters from my recipient couples, I was lucky enough to receive one for 2 of my 3 donations and it is the most amazing feeling reading them.
What would you say to someone considering donating their eggs?
Do it!! It is the most wonderful feeling. There are a couple of weeks where your life is revolving around medication and scans but it is all so easy and you are so well looked after and it flies by.
