Will donating eggs affect my fertility?
Donating eggs is highly unlikely to affect your fertility, or interfere with any future plans you may have to start or extend your own family.
The facts: Each ovary contains about half a million eggs. During the donor treatment cycle you will only donate about the same number of eggs as you would naturally lose during that month’s cycle, so about about 10-15 eggs. This will leave you with hundreds of thousands of eggs for the future.
When you have the initial screening appointment in clinic, if your doctor considers you to be at risk in any way or your fertility could be affected, then you would not be allowed to continue to become an egg donor.
You must feel free to change your mind before commiting to the process, if you are at all concerned. It is important that both you and your family feel completely comfortable with the decision you are making.Register interestDownload our information
