Egg donation > Counselling for egg donation

Why you are offered counselling for egg donation

Before you continue on this journey it is very important that you fully understand the short and long-term implications of donating eggs, especially with regards to fertility, your treatment and the future. It is therefore a requirement that, as an egg donor, you have the chance to talk to someone who is neutral, independent and not directly involved your your medical care.

A counsellor is there to look out for your interests and offer you a great source of information and support. Appointments last for roughly 45 minutes and can usually be synchronised with your first doctor’s appointment. If this proves to be a problem, a telephone counselling appointment with a qualified fertility counsellor can often be arranged to suit.
